School story · Tip #6
Picture a school where fees and personal money never mix.
It did not start that way. Fees came in at the office, and sometimes a little was borrowed for transport or lunch, with a promise to put it back. Nobody meant harm. But the books grew messy, and trust grew thin.
Then came the turning point. At a parents' meeting, hard questions came. Where did the money for the new desks go? Why was the term's balance unclear? The leaders had no clear answers. It was a hard day.
That evening, they made a decision. School money would stay school money. Every fee would be recorded the day it came in. Every expense would have a receipt. No borrowing, not even for one day.
It was not easy. It took discipline. But week by week, the books became clean.
The next time questions came, the bursar simply opened the records. Every shilling had an answer. Parents nodded. Teachers felt proud. The board trusted its leaders more than ever.
Today, that school stands strong, and its leaders sleep well. Their books speak for them.
Lesson: Keep school money and personal money apart, because clean books protect leaders.
